RESOLUTION TO ABOLISH ONE PART-TIME ELDER BENEFIT SPECIALIST POSITION AND CREATE ONE FULL-TIME ELDER BENEFIT SPECIALIST POSITION FOR THE AGING & DISABILITY RESOURCE CENTER OF SAUK COUNTY EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2015

          WHEREAS, the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Sauk County (ADRC) has engaged in a year-long restructuring process in 2014; and

          WHEREAS, the ADRC has an Elder Benefit Specialist Program designed to provide free assistance to Sauk County residents age 60 and older with such substantive areas as Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, health insurance, consumer protection and housing issues; and

          WHEREAS, the Elder Benefit Specialist position is vital to the services of the ADRC and requires full-time status to match the actual hours worked; and

          WHEREAS, through the ADRC restructuring process, it has been determined that the position of one part-time Elder Benefit Specialist position has been budgeted for and working full-time for many years and is expected to continue at that level; and

          WHEREAS, through the ADRC restructuring process, the creation of one full-time equivalent (1.00 FTE) Elder Benefit Specialist position will support the ADRC’s mission; and

          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Sauk County be authorized to abolish one part-time Elder Benefit Specialist position and create one full-time equivalent (1.00 FTE) Elder Benefit Specialist position, effective January 1, 2015.

For consideration by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, October 21, 2014.

Fiscal Note:  The 1.00 FTE Elder Benefits Specialist position has been budgeted in 2015 at $84,656 for wages and benefits and $5,086 in other costs including supplies, mileage, general liability insurance and MIS chargebacks.  This position is funded by 41.06% federal funds, 35.06% state funds and 23.88% County Tax Levy.

MIS Note:  No MIS impact, computer hardware and software already in existence.
