Resolution Body

RESOLUTION NO. _____ - 2018

Fiscal Impact: [ ] None [X] Budgeted Expenditure [ ] Not Budgeted

Background: Over the last few years, Sauk County has been working to upgrade and improve the lighting at many of its facilities. Building Services staff along with outside contractors are working to upgrade the current lighting in each facility to LED lighting. The goal of the lighting upgrade is to improve the overall facility lighting, help to reduce maintenance costs, and decrease the energy consumption on both the interior and exterior of the facilities. The current high intensity distribution lighting in the parking lots and wall packs on the exterior of the Law Enforcement Center have come to a point where it is more economical to upgrade the remaining building lighting to more energy efficient LED fixtures and reduce maintenance costs. The fixtures will be replaced one for one. A lighting study was completed to assure that the new lighting complies with City of Baraboo regulations for light that spills over the property line from the lighting upgrades. The Facilities Director requested proposals for the replacement of the remaining parking lot and exterior wall pack lighting at the Law Enforcement Center, and two qualified vendors submitted proposals for the lighting upgrade. Hill’s Wiring Inc. will replace the remaining exterior, wall pack lights and parking lot light at the Law Enforcement Center to LED fixtures at a cost of $21,535.19
