AUTHORIZING TO PURCHASE A CLEVELAND CONVECTION STEAMER FOR THE LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER KITCHEN FROM STREICH EQUIPMENT CO. INC.

Background: Sauk County operates a commercial kitchen at the Sauk County Law Enforcement Center (LEC), that provides three meals a day three hundred sixty-five days a year for the inmates housed in the Sauk County Law Enforcement Center. The kitchen equipment is original to the LEC, and used daily in preparing the meals for the inmates. Building Services staff along with the contracted kitchen service perform the routine maintenance on the current Cleveland convection steamer. The convection steamer has reached its end of useful life. A similar replacement model is needed for daily use in the LEC kitchen. Building Services Facilities Director contacted several vendors for pricing on a similar replacement model. Two vendors provided replacement pricing for the exact replacement of the current Cleveland Range model 24CGA10, steamer.

            WHEREAS, the Property & Insurance Committee has reviewed the proposals received, and recommends it to be in the best interest of Sauk County to accept the proposal from Streich Equipment Co. Inc. for the purchase of one (1) Cleveland convection gas steamer for the Sauk County Law Enforcement Center kitchen at a cost of $14,510.

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sauk County Board of Supervisors, met in regular session, and hereby authorizes the Building Services Facilities Director to accept the proposal from Streich Equipment Co. Inc. for the purchase of one (1) Cleveland convection gas steamer for the Sauk County Law Enforcement Center kitchen at a cost of $14,510.

For consideration by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors on February 19, 2018.

FISCAL NOTE: $122,000 is budgeted in the 2018 Building Services Capital Outlay budget for LEC kitchen equipment replacement.  $14,510 of the budgeted money is being used for the steamer replacement, with the remainder being used to rebuild or replace the current dishwasher.
