AUTHORIZING TO CONTRACT WITH AHERN FOR THE TESTING AND BALANCING OF THE RECOMMENDED ENERGY EFFICIENCIES AT COUNTY FACILITIES

Background: Sauk County is working to meet the Strategic Issue of reducing our buildings’ carbon footprints through, and among other things improving the energy efficiency of its HVAC systems at the Health Care Center, Law Enforcement Center, and West Square Administration facilities. Integrated Sustainable Design has identified numerous recommendations to upgrade the HVAC systems at the facilities. A request for proposal was issued for the testing and balancing of those energy efficiency upgrades at the Health Care Center, Law Enforcement Center, and West Square Administration building. Ahern submitted a bid to test and balance the identified energy efficiency projects from the request for proposal. This resolution authorizes to contract with Ahern to complete the testing and balancing portion of the upgrades at both the Health Care Center, Law Enforcement Center, and West Square Administration building.

            WHEREAS, Ahern proposes to complete the testing and balancing of the upgrades to the building controls and parts of the HVAC systems at the Sauk County Health Care Center, Law Enforcement Center, and West Square Administration building to help improve the facilities energy efficiencies at the cost not to exceed $32,380.

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors, met in regular session, hereby authorizes the Building Services Facilities Director to contract with Ahern for the testing and balancing of the upgrades of the building controls for improving the HVAC systems at the county facilities at cost not to exceed $32,380.
