Purpose

To participate in the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources County Conservation Grant Program.

Background

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) has grant funding available through the County Conservation Aids (CCA) program, specifically for the installation of fish and game projects under Wis. Stat. § 23.09(12). The CCA program is a 50% reimbursement grant. The Sauk County Parks Department has budgeted $2,245 for this grant to be applied to pier repair or replacement. The Parks Department is applying for an additional $4,580 from the WDNR. If the additional grant amount of $4,580.00 is awarded, Sauk County’s share would be $6,825.00. The County’s matching portion would come from reallocated campground improvement funds.

AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE COUNTY CONSERVATION GRANT PROGRAM

WHEREAS, Sauk County desires to participate in county fish and game projects and obtain state funds appropriated for such projects, pursuant to provision of Wis. Stat. § 23.09(12); and, 

WHEREAS, financial aid is desirable to install the project(s).

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors, met in regular session, that the Parks Director is authorized to act on behalf of Sauk County to: sign and submit an application to the WDNR for Conservation Aid Funds; submit to the WDNR reimbursement claims along with necessary supporting documentation within one (1) year of project end date; and take necessary action to undertake, direct, and complete the approved project; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Sauk County will comply with all state and federal laws related to the County Conservation Aids programs and will obtain approval in writing from the WDNR before any change is made in the use of the project site.
