Purpose

AUTHORIZE THE ADRC TO PURCHASE A REAR-ENTRY HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE VAN FOR ITS TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM

Background

In the 2017 budget, the ADRC budgeted for the purchase of a rear entry handicapped accessible van to assist in our transportation program, which transports the disabled and elderly to various locations.  Initially, it was planned to use $7,000 from the ADRC DOT trust fund, which holds DOT funding remaining at the end of a fiscal year, or from the sale of DOT purchased vehicles, and from a 5310 grant.

The grant funding from the 5310 grant was not awarded for the vehicle; however the ADRC had $53,514.00 of funding from our 85.21 grant remaining and it was placed in our DOT trust fund, bringing the total of the fund to $60,418.58.    Thus, the purchase of the handicapped accessible vehicle will be purchased with DOT funds; no levy dollars will be utilized.
