Purpose

To authorize the purchase of GIS services to convert and migrate existing GIS address data into the format required for Next-Gen 911 (NG911)

Background

Sauk County has entered into an agreement with the State of Wisconsin to participate in the state implementation of the Next Gen 911 (NG911) network.  Through participation in this agreement, Sauk County has obtained a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs for the purpose of preparing our GIS address data for use with the NG911 platform.  This resolution is for the purchase of the services necessary from our 911 system vendor, Intrado Life and Safety, for the evaluation and preparation of county GIS data for use with the new platform, and to provide GIS staff training

Budget Status (Other/External Sources): 

Budgeted and grant-funded.   Expenditure will be made from the LRM Budget.  WDMA will reimburse 95% of the total cost, with the remaining 5% being appropriated from the 2023 GIS consulting budget.

Resolved by the Board of Supervisors of Sauk County, Wisconsin:

 

BACKGROUND: Sauk County has entered into agreement with the State of Wisconsin to participate in the state implementation of the Next Gen 911 (NG911) network.  Through participation in this agreement, Sauk County has obtained a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs for the purpose of preparing our GIS address data for use with the NG911 platform.  This resolution is for the purchase of the services necessary from our 911 system vendor, Intrado Life and Safety, for the evaluation and preparation of county GIS data for use with the new platform, and to provide GIS staff training.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors that the acquisition of services from Intrado Life and Safety for data conversion and staff training, at a cost of $36,326, be hereby approved; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Sauk County MIS Coordinator is delegated the authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of Sauk County.  Approved for presentation to the County Board by the Land Resources and Environment Committee, this 21st day of February, 2023.
