Background

Subsequent to adoption of the 2022 budget, the Sheriff’s Office was notified of two grant awards.    The Sheriff’s Office was awarded $34,230 from the Wisconsin Department of Justice to purchase two unmarked vehicles for investigative purposes.  The Office was also notified of Safer Community funds through the State of Wisconsin in the amount of $82,334.55..  Agencies receiving Safer Community funds can tailor their use to fit needs unique to its community, including but not limited to training, recruitment, community policing and technology.

Resolved by the Board of Supervisors of Sauk County, Wisconsin:

 

BACKGROUND:

WHEREAS, the State of Wisconsin has awarded grant funds to Sauk County in the amount of $34,230 and $82,334.55.

 

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sauk County Board of Supervisors, met in regular session, does hereby approve an amendment to the 2022 budget to allocate an additional $116,565 in grant revenues to offset expenses of two undercover vehicles as well as expenses to be determined by the Sheriff for the Safer Community Funds.
