Background: Wisconsin Statutes 59.10(3)(b) requires in part: “each board shall propose a tentative county supervisory district plan setting forth the number of supervisory districts and tentative boundaries or a description of boundary requirements, hold a public hearing and adopt a tentative plan”.  On September 16th, 2021, the Sauk County Board held a public hearing and did adopt a tentative redistricting plan, Resolution #76-2021. A copy of the plan was provided to each municipality in Sauk County for their review, comment, and creation of wards. The municipalities have provided to the County their proposed wards. On November 16th, 2021 the County held a public hearing on the proposed final county supervisory redistricting plan. The County has determined which wards belong in the individual Supervisor Districts as set forth in the Ordinance Amendment below. Attached as Exhibit A is a map depicting the final Supervisor districts.  Said map shall be available in the County Clerk’s office for review by the general public. 

Resolution Body

WHEREAS, adoption of this ordinance amendment approves the Final Redistricting Plan and the requisite ordinance amendment establishing the aforementioned districts.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors that any existing ordinances, codes, resolutions, or portions thereof in conflict with this ordinance shall be and hereby are repealed as far as any conflict exists.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes sec. 59.10(3)(b)4., the Chair of the Board of Supervisors file a certified copy of the final county supervisory district 21 plan with the Secretary of State.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,  that the Community Development Department provide copies of the final county supervisory district plan and final municipal ward plan to each municipality in the County.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Ordinance section 1.001 is repealed and recreated as follows:
