Purpose
To adopt amendments to the fee schedule for Chapter 10 County Parks.
Background
Pursuant to Chapter 10 of the Sauk County Code of Ordinances, the Sauk County Board of Supervisors has the authority to establish fees as follows:
Pursuant to s. 10.04 Fees. (1) The Sauk County Highway and Parks Committee, upon authorization of the County Board, will establish reasonable fees for the use of Sauk County Parks, camping and pavilion facilities in accordance therewith. To keep camping fees comparable to similar campgrounds, the Sauk County Land Resources and Environment Department has compared amenities and prices with neighboring counties, and has determined that fees should be amended to increase revenue to offset operating costs.
Campers currently have to pay for each adult, per night and if applicable, $5 per night for electricity. The proposed 2022 fee schedule will eliminate these two fees and create a per-night fee of $20 for a nonelectric campsite and a per-night fee of $25 for an electric campsite.
The 2021 fees allowed up to 4 adults (16 + years of age) per night, plus an unlimited number of children and pets per campsite. The new 2022 fees will allow up to 4 adults (18 + years of age), 6 children and 3 animals on each campsite. Campsites 02 and 54 will allow up to 8 adults (18 + years of age), 6 children and 3 animals due to their large size.
Note: Chapter 10 refers to the Highway and Parks Committee. Oversight of the Parks is now by the Land Resources and Environment (LRE) Committee. As such, this resolution is presented to the County Board by the LRE Committee.
Resolution Body
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors, met in regular session, that the fee schedule for Chapter 10 County Parks Ordinance of the Sauk County Code of Ordinances attached hereto as Appendix A be approved.
Requested Board Review Date:
Tuesday, October 19, 2021
