Background

Background:

 As of the last time the Sauk County Board of Supervisors addressed a County wide mask mandate on July 21, 2020 there were 242 confirmed cases, 63 active cases, 17 people ever hospitalized, and 3 deaths.

As of November 13, 2020 there are 2,814 confirmed cases, 654 active cases, 91 people ever hospitalized, and 10 deaths.

On November 6,2020 multiple health professionals submitted a letter to the County Board of Supervisors requesting help and public support to help “stem the rising numbers of COVID19.”

Resolution Body

      WHEREAS, Sauk County (the County) has the statutory authority to set its own rules and  

 regulations for its buildings, and

 

      WHEREAS, there is an active outbreak of COVID19 in Sauk County, and it is the responsibility of the County to protect the safety and well-being of its employees and its citizens, and

 

      WHEREAS, as community leaders the County Board should be leading by example, and

 

      WHEREAS, the public health community along with the medical health community is imploring the Board to take action and lead, and

 

      WHEREAS, the County has the availability for virtual meeting participation and viewing, meeting the ADA requirement for “reasonable modifications.”
