RESIGNATION ANNOUNCEMENT

At Tuesday’s regular meeting of the Sauk County Board of Supervisors, County Board Chairperson Peter Vedro announced he had received a letter of resignation from Supervisor David Moore, who represents District 12 (which includes the Town of Delton Wards 1 & 2, Village of Lake Delton Ward 3, and the City of Wisconsin Dells Wards 4, 8 & 10).  Mr. Moore’s resignation will be effective November 1, 2018.

In his letter, Supervisor Moore stated: “While it has been a great honor and privilege to serve my community on the Board I must follow my first calling which is to the ministry of the Gospel.  To that end I have accepted the call to Pastor a church in Oklahoma and will be moving there making it necessary to resign my position here.”  Moore has represented the district since being elected to the Board in April, 2014.

Supervisor Moore served on the Aging & Disability Resource Center and Veteran’s Service Committee, Personnel Committee, Aging & Disability Advisory Committee, Central Wisconsin Community Action Council, and Transportation Coordination Committee.  The appointee to fill his unexpired term will pick up those same assignments.

Rule IV (D) of the Board of Supervisors provides that “if a vacancy occurs on the Board, the Chair is authorized to appoint a qualified elector of the supervisory district wherein the vacancy occurs to fill the unexpired term.  Such appointment shall be subject to the approval of the Board at the next regular Board meeting following the appointment.”

Qualified electors can express their interest in filling the remained of Supervisor Moore’s term (ends April 20, 2020) by contacting County Board Chairperson Peter Vedro at 355-3500 (office) or 448-2829 (cell), or by e-mailing at peter.vedro@saukcountywi.gov

Person with interest in filling the vacancy or questions related to it should contact the Chairperson by Wednesday, November  7th by 5 PM, after which timely interviews will be scheduled for prospective candidates so that an appointee can be approved by the Board at their November 13th meeting.
