REGULAR MEETING:  SAUK COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

1.  Call to Order and Certify Compliance with Open Meeting Law: 6:00 P.M.

6.  Adopt the minutes.  MOTION (Polivka/Peper) to adopt the minutes from the previous meeting and from the New Supervisors Orientation meeting.  Motion carried unanimously.

i. Resolution 39-2022 Commending Stella Walker For More Than 15 Years Of Faithful Service To The People of Sauk County.

Resolution 44-2022 To Adopt The Rules Of The Board For The 2022-24 Term.  MOTION (Rego/Gruber).

MOTION (Carver/Gruber) to amend the Rules of the Board as follows:

On line 81:  “No supervisor may be elected as Chairperson for more than two (2) three (3) consecutive terms.”

Resolution 51-2022 Resolution To Authorize A Small Dam Option For Hemlock Dam And To Rescind The Use Of Funds Through The Department Of Natural Resources Municipal Dam Grant Program. MOTION (Krueger/Polivka).  VOTE:  AYES:  (30) Roxen, Spencer, Eberl, Rego, Kinsman, Klitzke, Scanlon, Deitrich, Krueger, Flint, Clemens, Prosser, Lombard, Schell, Dorner, Fordham, Teelin, Hazard, Spencer, Carver, Polivka, Burchill, Peper, Gruber, Detter, Chrisler, Stehling, McAuliffe, Lohr and McCumber.  NAYS:  (0).  VACANT:  (1).  Motion carried unanimously.

21.  Closed Session:

The Board of Supervisors entered into closed session pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes, Section 19.85 (1)(g), conferring with legal counsel concerning strategy to be adopted by the governmental body with respect to litigation in which it is or is likely to become involved and pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes Section 19.85 (1)(e) Deliberating or negotiating the purchase of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session (Topic: Great Sauk State Trail Retaining Wall in Prairie du Sac). A roll call vote will be taken to go into closed session and it is anticipated that the County Board will return to open session by roll call vote to consider the remainder of the meeting agenda. Announcement of action taken in closed session, or take action based on closed session (NOTE: If the announcement of action taken in closed session would compromise the need for the closed session, the action taken will not be announced. Any action taken in closed session may be announced when the need for the closed session has passed).  Remaining in the room for closed session: LRE staff.  MOTION (Peper/Rego) to return to open session.

Open session began at 9:17 p.m.

MOTION (Hazard/Gruber) to reaffirm the resolution on the Emergency Action to evaluate repairing the Great State Sauk Trail retaining wall.  Motion carried unanimously.  (Verbal vote)
