RESIGNATION ANNOUNCEMENT
Sauk County Board Chairperson Tim McCumber announced he has received a letter of resignation effective immediately from Supervisor Charles “Chuck” Spencer, who has represented District 21 (Tn of Baraboo Ward 4, Tn of Excelsior Ward 3, Tn of Freedom Ward 1, Vill of North Freedom, Tn Sumpter Ward 1) since April 2016.
Qualified electors interested in filling the remainder of Supervisor Spencer’s term (ends April 18, 2022) should contact County Board Chairperson Tim McCumber by e-mailing a letter of interest to timothy.mccumber@saukcountywi.gov.
Rule IV (D) of the Board of Supervisors provides that “if a vacancy occurs on the Board, the Chair is authorized to appoint a qualified elector of the supervisory district wherein the vacancy occurs to fill the unexpired term. Such appointment shall be subject to the approval of the Board at the next regular Board meeting following the appointment.”
The deadline for application is 4:30 P.M. on Friday, May 8, 2020; after which timely interviews will be scheduled for prospective candidates so that an appointee can be approved by the Board at their May 19, 2020 meeting.
