The State of Wisconsin received approximately $92 million under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 to financially assist eligible homeowners in the State of Wisconsin who have experienced a financial hardship due to the Corona Virus. Payment of properties on behalf of homeowners is an eligible expense under the WHH program.

 

Homeowners will apply for WHH assistance through a state provided online application and these applications will be processed by program administrators. The homeowner will be asked to provide documentation of homeowner expenses for which they are requesting assistance. If the homeowner and expenses are determined eligible for the WHH program, a payment will be made directly to the treasurer for the eligible amount. Before any payment can be made, a signed Participation Agreement is required. (attached) This agreement will cover all approved homeowners who apply and request assistance be made to you for property taxes.
