Q:  How do I find out what positions are available with Sauk County?

A:  There are a number of ways:

  • The best method is to check the Internet listing at the County's Website
  • Come to the Personnel Office located at:  505 Broadway, Baraboo, WI.
    All County vacancies are listed in our office.
  • Call the Career Opportunity Line at (800) 233-9281 toll-free or (608) 355-4444.

Q:  What is important to know when completing the application?

A.     It is important to be as complete as possible

  • You must complete a separate application for each vacancy.  The application you submit for a position cannot be used for other vacancies.

  • All blanks on the application must be completed.
  • The application is due back on or before the published date.  We do not accept late applications.
    The deadline for each position is listed in all job postings or announcements.
  • It is advisable to attach a resume.
  • Be sure to sign and date the bottom of the form.

Q:  What if I am interested in a job that is not open at this time?

A:    We only accept applications for jobs listed on the website, in our Personnel Office, or various other areas.

Q:  Should I call to follow up on my application?

A:   We request that you do not call to check the status of your application.

 

Q:  How will I know when the position has been filled?

A:   You will be notified in writing for each position you applied for.   The hiring process could take 4 weeks or more.

 

Q:  How long do you keep my application on file?

A:   Your application is good only for the position which you applied. You will need to fill out a separate application  for each position you are interested in.
