Accessibility

An audit of Sauk County Parks and Recreation facilities was conducted in 2021 and adopted in 2022. ADA related amenities offered through Sauk County Parks and Recreation are dynamic. We are continually making changes and improvements as we become more accessible.

Below is a listing of all ADA amenities that Sauk County Parks and Recreation offers. Please contact our office should you have any questions.

Bathrooms
Accessible bathrooms are located at the following parks:

Hemlock County Park
Lake Redstone County Park
White Mound County Park Horse Campground
White Mound County Park Office
White Mound County Park Campground
White Mound County Park Boat Landing

Camping
White Mound County Park Campground offers accessible camping (typically from April 1 to November 30), with each campsite offering a fire ring and picnic table. Accessible campsites include 12E, 22E and 46E. White Mound County Park Horse Campground also offers accessible camping (typically open May 24 to October 31). Accessible horse campsites include H4 and H5. 

Fishing
There is are accessible fishing piers at the North End Boat Landing and White Mound County Park Boat Landing.  Fishing opportunities at the North End Boat Landing include panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, musky and walleye. White Mound County Park offers fishing opportunities for panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike and catfish. 

Picnic area
At Bluffview County Park you can find picnic tables that overlook the playground and a small pond.
White Mound County Park offers a handful of locations scattered throughout the park for picnic areas, including a shelter at the boat landing, Shelter #1 and picnic tables near the office building. 

Playgrounds
Bluffview County Park contains an accessible playground and space to gather. No entrance fee is required at this park. 

Swimming
Near the White Mound County Park office building is a 104 acre lake. The beach area offers a Mobi-Mat that prevents wheeled devices from sinking into the sand.

Walking Path
The Great Sauk State Trail is an 11.4 mile paved ADA accessible trail. Visitors can enjoy beautiful views as they pass through historic towns and the Wisconsin river valley.
