Sauk County Solar Power

Sauk County Solar Projects:

Sauk County has installed solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at the Law Enforcement Center in Baraboo and the Health Care Center in Reedsburg. These solar PV systems provide electricity for these county facilities. They were installed to reduce energy costs for the County, demonstrate County commitment to renewable energy and reduced carbon emissions, and serve as an example to County residents who may be considering solar PV systems for their homes, farms, and businesses.

There is a growing interest in solar energy in Sauk County because the cost of solar PV systems has declined by over 75% since 2010 and is now often financially advantageous for homes, businesses, farms, and institutions. The result is a growing number of solar installations across the county including through a community organized effort called the Solar Sauk County Program.
