PLEASE NOTE:

****The first installment or full payment for the 2023 tax bill is due by January 31st.  Please mail payments to your local municipality, NOT SAUK COUNTY.  The mailing address is on the paystubs at the bottom of your tax bill.  If mailing payments the envelope must be post marked by January 31st to make sure it is timely.  If you want to pay your current tax bill on-line you will need to contact your local municipality as that is who you need to pay, NOT SAUK COUNTY.  Please don't wait until the last minute to pay your taxes. 

 

SAUK COUNTY DOES NOT ACCEPT POST-DATED CHECKS.  Post-dated checks will be returned if noticed, otherwise it will be processed the day it is received as we do not hold any checks.

Mailing Delinquent or Second installment Property Tax Payments

If you are mailing your real estate tax payment, please do not wait until the last minute and make sure your envelope is postmarked by July 31, 2023.

Delinquent Payments Accrue Interest

All delinquent balances will accrue 1.5% interest & penalty on the 1st of each month until paid in full.  Please visit the Pay the Treasurer's Office page for information regarding payment options.

 

WISCONSIN HELP FOR HOMEOWNERS

Wisconsin Help for Homeowners (WHH) is a new statewide program that can help with overdue bills like mortgage payments, property taxes, and utilities. The program is available to Wisconsin homeowners with overdue housing-related bills, both with and without a mortgage, who meet income and other eligibility requirements, and have experienced a qualified economic hardship since January 21, 2020.
