Warrant/Drug Arrests - Town of Delton

Vargas

On Saturday, December 15th, 2018 The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office received information that a wanted subject identified as 38-year-old Leobardo Vargas of Wisconsin Dells, WI., was in the Baraboo, Sauk County area and was actively selling heroin and methamphetamine. Deputies were able to locate a vehicle associated with this subject in the Ho Chunk Casino parking lot.

Further investigation revealed a room at the casino hotel was registered to Jasmine Decorah, 23 years old from Baraboo, WI., who is a known associate of Vargas. During the investigation, Decorah exited the hotel room and went to her vehicle, at which time she was detained and questioned.

A search warrant was applied for and granted for the hotel room to apprehend Vargas. Vargas exited the hotel room prior to the execution of the search warrant, and attempted to evade the Deputies on scene. He was located hiding behind a vending machine in the hotel and was taken into custody on the outstanding arrest warrant out of Adams County.

Further investigation led to a search warrant for the room Vargas and Decorah had rented, during which 21.5 grams of Heroin with a street value of about $3,200.00, 2.4 grams of Methamphetamine with a street value of about $350.00 and a loaded handgun were found. Information related to a physical altercation between Vargas and Decorah was also revealed.

In addition to the arrest warrant, Vargas was charged with Possession of Heroin with Intent to deliver between 10 & 50 grams, Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Felony Bail Jumping, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Strangulation/Suffocation as Domestic Abuse and Battery as Domestic Abuse.

Jasmine Decorah was arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule 2 Narcotics, Possession of Heroin with Intent to deliver between 3 & 10 grams, Possession of Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
