Updated News Release - June 11 crashes

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the names of those involved in serious traffic crashes on June 11, 2016. 

The first crash occurred at STH 33 and STH 136.

On June 11, 2016 at approximately 5:05pm Brandy N. Lieder, age 38, of Reedsburg WI was turning into a private driveway off of STH 33 when a motorcycle operated by James W. Mach, age 45, of Deforest WI, attempted to pass her in a no passing zone.  The motorcycle crossed into the path in which the auto was turning causing the collision. 

Mach was transported to UW Hospital in Madison by UW Medflight Helicoptor.  Lieder was treated and released at the scene by Paramedics from Reedsburg Ambulance. 

This crash remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.

The second crash occurred on Bunker Drive south of Hillman Road.

On June 11, 2016 at approximately 5:24pm a 2006 Pontiac operated by Sarah A. Holm, age 23, of Baraboo WI was west bound on Bunker Drive.  Holm lost control of the vehicle causing it to enter the west ditch and strike a tree.  Holm was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sauk County Coroner’s Office.

Holm was not wearing a seatbelt and speed was a factor in this crash.
