Two Reedsburg Men Arrested in Burglary to Cupids

At 2:38 AM on Monday the 23rd of July, the Sauk County Communications Center was notified by ADT Security of a burglar alarm at Cupid’s located on CTH BD in the Town of Delton. Upon the deputy's arrival the deputy found the front window broken out.

The investigation into this revealed that someone had broken the glass window in the front of the store. An examination found the doors to the building still secure. Upon searching the building it was determined that the subject had stolen numerous packages of potpourri, numerous pipes and caused up to $1000.00 worth of damage to the store window and shelving.

During the response to the scene by the deputies one of the deputies met a vehicle on Shady Lane Road and he was able to get the license plate number. This vehicle was stopped by the Reedsburg Police Department. During the stop it was determined that the occupants were involved with burglary and both subjects were taken into custody. Upon interviewing the subjects, both admitted to committing the burglary.

The subjects were identified as Michael K. Hale, age 26 of Reedsburg, WI and Cody K. Bolt, age 24 of Reedsburg, WI. Both were charged with Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property and Possession of Burglarious Tools.

Everything has been referred to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office for formal charging. There initial appearance could be as soon as Tuesday. This case remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in this investigation by Wisconsin State Patrol and the Reedsburg Police Department.
