Thefts From Unlocked Vehicles

On Wednesday, December 23rd, 2020 at approximately 10:40 PM deputies with the Sauk County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of three male subjects entering unlocked vehicles that were parked at a business in the Township of Delton.  A description of the males and their vehicle was obtained from surveillance video at the business.

At about 11:11 PM, The Sauk County Communications Center took a call from a resident on Fox Hill Road in the Delton Township that a male was found going through her vehicle. The caller reported the male left the area in a vehicle when confronted. The description of the suspect and the vehicle matched the earlier incident at the business. Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate the suspects or vehicle.

Approximately 1:21 AM, on December 24th, an Officer with the Lake Delton Police Department stopped the suspect vehicle in the Village of Lake Delton after a recognizing it from the incidents in the county. A search of the vehicle revealed numerous items that were verified as stolen, as well as other items believed to be stolen. The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the stop, Jordan Johnson, age 23 of Sun Prairie, was arrested for theft and transported to the Sauk County Jail. These and similar incidents reported on December 23rd and 24th are under investigation.
