Sex Offender Relocation Notice

December 19, 2012

NEWS RELEASE

Sauk County Sheriff Chip Meister is releasing the following information pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute 301.46(2m) which authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sex offender's relocation when, in the discretion of the agency, the release of information will enhance public safety, awareness and protection. The individual who appears in this release has been convicted of a sex offense. Further, his criminal history places him in a classification level which reflects the potential to re-offend.

He is NOT wanted by the police at this time. This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public. Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until Act 440 was enacted that law enforcement became able to share this information with the community. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will NOT be tolerated.

On 01/23/92, offender was convicted of two counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault. The female victims were 16 and 15 year old acquaintances that he forcibly assaulted. This offender has also committed other criminal offenses.

Christopher Combs is currently on supervision, and is required to register as a sex offender for life and is currently going to be placed on electronic GPS monitoring.
