Several animals seized

Special News Release

On April 26, 2010 the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office along with the Sauk County Animal Shelter seized twenty-five dogs from the residence at E6809 Fuller Rd, Reedsburg, WI. Officers had been dispatched to this residence to conduct a welfare check on the residents living there. When the officer first arrived he was unable to make contact with anyone, but upon his arrival he was greeted by sixteen dogs many that appeared ill and some having open sores on them.

Investigators responded to the residence along with the members from the Animal Shelter and began an investigation into the condition of the animals. As a result of the preliminary investigation twenty-five dogs were seized and taken to the Animal Shelter by the Animal Control Officer.

While on scene the owner of the animals arrived and was identified as, Rita Granger. “In April of 2009 Sauk County Deputies along with Sauk County Animal Shelter seized four dogs and seven cats from this same residence, “said Chief Deputy Chip Meister

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office and the Sauk County Animal Shelter are continuing their investigation.
