Robbery

On Thursday, June 3rd 2021 at approximately 1:00 PM the Sauk County Communications Center was notified of a disturbance which had just occurred at the Ho Chunk Casino in the Township of Delton. Information given to the communications center was that the suspect from the disturbance had fled the Casino in a Saturn Ion and was possibly armed with a handgun.

A Sauk County Deputy located the Saturn traveling southbound on Fox Hill Road near Terry Town Road.  The car rapidly accelerated when the Deputy attempted to stop it and traveled toward the Village of West Baraboo at a high rate of speed.  The Deputy discontinued the pursuit in the Village of West Baraboo due to the high speed and reckless driving of the operator.

The car was later spotted in the Village of West Baraboo by a Sauk County Detective who witnessed the operator stop the car and flee on foot. During a search of the area, the suspect was located and arrested by a Baraboo Police Department Officer and Sauk County Deputies.

The suspect was identified as Anthony J. Wilson, age 28 of Baraboo. Wilson was arrested and transported to the Sauk County Jail. Charges of Fleeing and Eluding an Officer, Attempted Robbery with the Threat of Force, and Substantial Battery will be referred to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office. Additionally, Wilson was arrested on a Probation Hold through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

After the arrest, Deputies conducted a search of the area where Wilson was seen fleeing on foot from the car.  This search turned up a loaded handgun which was found hidden behind a residence.

This investigation is ongoing and more charges for Wilson are anticipated. If anyone has any additional information regarding this case they are asked to call Sauk County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-847-7285. You may also email tips to tipsubmit.com or by text by texting “tipsauk” to 274637.
