OWI 4th Offense Arrest

OWI 4TH OFFENSE ARREST

 

On August 1, 2021 at approximately 1:44 a.m., a deputy with the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle pulled over to the side of the road near the intersection of County Highway PF and US Highway 12 in the Town of Prairie Du Sac. The deputy stopped to check on the motorist.  During the subsequent investigation, the deputy determined the vehicle had been involved in a traffic crash. The deputy also observed signs of intoxication displayed by the operator.  Following standardized field sobriety tests, the operator was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI).  

The operator was identified as Irwin T Johnson, age 59 from rural Lake Mills, WI.  The deputy learned that Johnson has 3 prior OWI convictions and has an open pending court case involving a 4th OWI arrest.

A charge of Operating While Intoxicated 4th Offense will be referred to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office.  Johnson was issued multiple other traffic citations and was incarcerated at the Sauk County Jail.
