OWI 4th Arrest

NEWS RELEASE 

OWI 4TH OFFENSE ARREST

 

On July 20, 2021 at approximately 7:45 p.m., the Sauk County Communications Center was notified of a driving complaint regarding a truck traveling southbound on US Highway 12 in the Village of West Baraboo.  The caller stated the truck was "all over the road" and was able to provide a vehicle description and license plate.  

A Sauk County Deputy located the truck and performed a traffic stop on County Highway W west of USH 12 in the Town of Baraboo.  The operator of the truck was Lyle C. Higley, age 58, of Reedsburg, WI.  During initial contact and the administration of standardized field sobriety tests, the Deputy observed signs of alcohol impairment displayed by Higley.  Higley was subsequently arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI).  Higley has 3 prior OWI convictions.  

Higley was incarcerated in the Sauk County Jail and charges of Operating While Intoxicated 4th Offense and Operating While a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration 4th Offense will be referred to the Sauk County District Attorney's Office.
