On Friday, December 2nd, 2022 at approximately 12:39 AM the Sauk County Dispatch Center received a report of a possible intoxicated driver that was about to leave a residence in the village of Spring Green to attempt to drive to Madison for work. It was reported that the male had been observed struggling to park a vehicle in a residential driveway before leaving to go to Madison.
A Sauk County Sheriff's Deputy was in the area at the time of the call and located the suspect vehicle, a 2002 Subara Impreza, being driven through the village and conducted a traffic stop. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Chad Deneen, age 45 of Platteville, WI. During contact with Deneen the deputy was able to detect signs of alcohol impairment. It was requested that Deneen conduct field sobriety testing and as a result of that testing he was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated, 4th offense. Deneen was transported to the Sauk County Jail and turned over to jail staff without incident.
