On Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 at approximately 7:42 AM a deputy with the Sauk County Sheriff''s Office conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of West North Street and Trail Street in the Village of LaValle. The deputy had been monitoring traffic and observed a vehicle operating with expired registration.
Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle who was identified as Christopher Johnston, age 40 of LaValle, the deputy detected signs of impairment. Johnston was asked to submit to field sobriety testing and as a result of the testing was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated, 4th offense. Johnston was also charged with Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device, Operating While Revoked, Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Content (4th) and a probation hold. Johnston also received three additional traffic citations as a result of the stop.
Johnston was transported to the Sauk County Jail and the vehicle was removed by Shield's Towing.
