On Sunday, September 12th, 2021 at approximately 3:00 AM a sergeant with the Sauk County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on Cornfield Road near the intersection of State Highway 136 in the Township of Baraboo.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as John Powers, age 51 of rural North Freedom. During contact with Powers the sergeant noted signs of impairment. Powers was asked to do field sobriety tests and as a result of those tests, was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated 3rd offense. Powers was transported to the Sauk County Jail and then released to a responsible party.
