On Saturday, April 17th 2021 at approximately 5:27 PM a deputy with the Sauk County Sheriff's Office observed a traffic crash in the township of Troy, Sauk County.
The deputy was busy conducting a traffic stop when they overheard a truck doing a burnout in the intersection of Highway 60 and County Road B. From the deputies location he was able to see the driver lose control of the truck and crash into the ditch just east of that intersection.
The deputy responded to the crashed truck and located the driver still inside. He was identified as Nicholas Nachreiner, age 36 of Merrimac. While in contact with Nachreiner the deputy was able to observe signs of impairment. Nachreiner submitted to field sobriety testing and as a result was arrested for 3rd offense Operating While Intoxicated. He was also issued numerous traffic citations as a result of the incident.
