OWI 3

On Sunday, May 17th, 2020 at approximately 2:29 AM the Sauk County Dispatch Center was notified of a vehicle on fire on Golf Course Road near the intersection with Junction Road in the township of Reedsburg. 

Sauk County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the scene along with members of the Reedsburg Fire Department and Reedsburg EMS. The first arriving deputies discovered that the vehicle involved, a 1999 Dodge Ram, had been in a crash prior to starting on fire and becoming fully engulfed in flames. A small portion of the wooded area around the vehicle also caught fire as a result. 

During the investigation, the owner and operator of the vehicle Lucas Triggs, age 29 of Lyndon Station was located by deputies approximately 100 yards from the burning vehicle hiding in a wooded area. Triggs was put through field sobriety testing and as a result was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated, 3rd offense. He was also charged with Operating after Revocation due to OWI. Steve's towing removed the vehicle from the scene.
