North Freedom Ambulance Call

**For Immediate Release**

February 2, 2011

On February 2, 2011 at approximately 3:32am the Sauk County Communications Center was notified of a 2 month old child not breathing in a residence in the Village of North Freedom. North Freedom First Responders and Baraboo District Ambulance were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Due to the hazardous blizzard conditions existing at the time, the Sauk County Communications Center contacted the Sauk County Highway Department to assist. A Highway Department snowplow was dispatched to the area and led Baraboo District Ambulance to the scene. Resuscitation efforts at the scene were successful, yet the infant needed to be transported to St. Clare Hospital. The Highway Department snowplow then led the ambulance from the scene into the City of Baraboo where it was met by a City of Baraboo snowplow to lead them into St. Clare Hospital. Because of these efforts, the infant was transported to St. Clare Hospital without incident.
This is an example of the coordinated effort of numerous Emergency Services organizations working together for a successful resolution of a critical incident.
