Motorcycle Crash - Village of LaValle **UPDATED**

The operator of the motorcycle was Patrick J. Delucia, age 53.  Delucia was living in La Valle but was previously from and still had significant ties to Homer, New York.

On August 3, 2021, the Sauk County Coroner's Office was notified by UW Hospital staff that Delucia had died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

MOTORCYCLE CRASH - HIGHWAY 33-58 LAVALLE

 

On August 1, 2021 at approximately 7:06 p.m., the Sauk County Communications Center received multiple reports of a motorcycle crash on State Highway 33-58 in the Village of LaValle. It was reported that the operator of the motorcycle was unconscious and the motorcycle was on fire. Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services, and Fire personnel were sent to the scene.

The initial investigation and witness accounts indicate that a 2021 Can Am Ryker 3-wheel motorcycle was northbound on STH 33-58 and attempted to pass a vehicle traveling the same direction. The motorcycle departed the road and traveled in the west side ditch until it collided with a guardrail. The operator, and only occupant, was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained life-threatening injuries.

The operator, a 53 year-old man residing in LaValle, was not wearing a helmet. The crash remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.

The name of the operator is being withheld at this time pending notification of family.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Reedsburg Ambulance Service, Lavalle Fire Department and First Responders, UW MedFlight, and Steve’s Towing.
