Motorcycle Crash in the Township of Troy

On 07/04/2011 at approximately 10:52 a.m., the Sauk County Communication Center received a call regarding a motorcycle crash on CTH B and Schweppe Road in the Township of Troy, Sauk County.

Upon a preliminary investigation conducted by the Sauk County Sheriff's Office, it was determined that the operator of the motorcycle, Leonard W. Kuntz, age 58 of Fond du Lac, WI was traveling west on CTH B when he braked hard and went into a skid causing him to lose control of his motorcycle and trailer which overturned and ejected Kuntz onto the roadway.  The operator reported that he braked to avoid a collision with a deer that crossed  the roadway.  Kuntz was attended to at the scene by Plain Ambulance and then transported via MedFlight to UW Hospital in Madison with severe head and shoulder injuries.

Kuntz was not wearing a helmet.  Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in this crash.  The Sauk County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Plain Police Department, Plain Fire and EMS and UW Madison MedFlight.
