Motorcycle Crash

On Sunday, July 3, 2016, at approximately 12:15 p.m., the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motorcycle crash on STH 130 south of CTH N in the township of Bear Creek in Sauk County.  There were reported to be two people injured in the crash.

 

The initial investigation revealed that a 1984 Honda Goldwing was being operated southbound on STH 130 by Gary Baker, age 70, of Baraboo, WI.  While negotiating a curve, the Honda drifted off the right edge of the roadway, traveled along the ditch line, and overturned into a creek bed.  Baker and his passenger, Mary Soban, age 46, of Baraboo, WI were thrown from the Honda.  Neither occupant was wearing a helmet.

 

Due to the injuries, two Med Flight helicopters were summoned to the scene and both occupants were transported to UW Hospital in Madison.

 

Plain Fire Department, Plain Ambulance, and Spring Green Ambulance assisted at the scene.

 

The crash remains under investigation, but inattentive driving is suspected.
