Motor Vehicle Crash

On Sunday, August 8th, 2021 at approximately 2:15 AM the Sauk County Dispatch Center received a report of a motor vehicle crash on County Road W east of the intersection with Neuman Road in the township of Greenfield.

The first responding deputies located a 2001 Ford F-350 on its roof in the middle of the westbound lane of traffic. The operator of the vehicle had been ejected and was also lying in the middle of the westbound lane of traffic. Initial investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling east on County Road W when it failed to properly negotiate a curve, causing the operator to lose control. The vehicle left the roadway on the north side of the road where it struck a mailbox before overturning several times and coming to rest back in the roadway.

The operator of the vehicle, a 32 year old man from Baraboo, suffered severe life threatening injuries as a result of the crash.

The name of the operator is being withheld at this time pending notification of family.

The Sauk County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Baraboo Police Department, Baraboo Fire Department, Baraboo Ambulance Service, and Craig's Towing.
