Jail Inmate Death

Update

The inmate is identified as  Ry W. Clark age 37 of rural Baraboo, WI.

January 15, 2012

On January 15, 2012 at approximately 8:13am Sauk County Deputies, while doing routine jail checks, found an inmate hanging inside his cell. Deputies made entry into the cell and found the inmate to be without a pulse and not breathing. CPR was administered by Deputies and the on-duty Nurse. Baraboo Ambulance Paramedics were immediately summoned to the scene.
The inmate was pronounced dead at 8:49am. Sauk County Sheriff Chip Meister contacted the Dane County Sheriff’s Office to conduct an investigation into this death. The inmate was in custody after being arrested during the early morning hours of January 14, 2012 for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated 4th Offense, Tampering with an Ignition Interlock Device, and a Parole Violation. The name of the inmate is being withheld at this time pending notification of family.
This incident remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, the Sauk County Coroner’s Office, and the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
