Fatal Skiing Accident
On Sunday, March 5th, 2023 at approximately 3:23 PM the Sauk County Dispatch Center received a report of an injured skier on the ski hill at Christmas Mountain Village Ski Resort located at S944 Christmas Mountain Road in the township of Dellona. It was reported the skier had struck a tree and was not breathing.
Sauk County Sheriff deputies responded to the scene where life saving measures were already underway from bystanders. Life saving measures were continued by sheriff's deputies and members of Dells Delton Ambulance Service until it was determined the skier was deceased. The name of the deceased skier will not be released.
Assisting the Sauk County Sheriff's Office on scene were members of the Lake Delton Fire Department, Dells Delton Ambulance Service and UW Med-Flight.
