FATAL CRASH – TOWN OF TROY

On December 10, 2020 at approximately 3:35 p.m., the Sauk County Communications Center received a report of a motorcycle crash on State Highway 60 east of Round River Trail in the Town of Troy.  It was reported that the motorcycle had struck the gravel shoulder and left the road.  The operator was reported to be non-responsive.  Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services, and Fire personnel were sent to the scene.

The initial investigation and witness accounts indicate that a 2007 Harley Davidson Electra Glide motorcycle was eastbound STH 60 negotiating a sweeping curve in the road.  The motorcycle departed the road, traveled on the gravel shoulder, and entered the south side ditch where it overturned.  The operator, and only occupant, was thrown from the motorcycle.  Lifesaving measures were attempted and unsuccessful.  The operator of the motorcycle died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

The operator of the motorcycle was Curtis E. Jackson Jr, age 56, of Sun Prairie, WI.

Jackson was wearing a helmet and protective clothing.  The crash remains under investigation.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Sauk Prairie Ambulance Service, Sauk City Fire Department, UW MedFlight, Sauk County Coroner’s Office, and Everett’s Towing.
