Emergency Landing - Town of Baraboo

On Saturday, March 6, 2021 at approximately 2:32 p.m., the Sauk County Communications Center received a call reporting an airplane had made an emergency landing on State Hwy 136 in the Town of Baraboo. Sauk County Sheriff’s Deputies as well as Baraboo Fire and Ambulance were immediately dispatched to the incident location.

Upon arrival Deputies located a small airplane on a portion of State Hwy 136 which is currently closed for construction. The pilot of the plane whom was identified as Joseph R Fullerton of Saint Ignace, MI stated the plane started to have fuel line issues forcing him to make an emergency landing. Joseph was able to land the plane on the closed roadway successfully. Joseph was not injured during the emergency landing, the plane sustained very minor damage to one wing caused by tree branches.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in this investigation by the FAA.
