CTH H Crash

On May 20, 2014 at approximately 3:22 a.m., the Sauk County Communications Center received a report of a one vehicle crash on CTH H at Glen Valley Dr., in the township of Winfield.  Reedsburg Fire Department, Reedsburg Ambulance, Sauk County Deputies, and Reedsburg Police Department all responded.

The investigation found that a 2008 Dodge Charger was being operated by Rusty J. Lincoln, age 23, Wisconsin Dells, at a high rate of speed.  Lincoln lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve and struck a guardrail.  The vehicle then became airborne and rolled over before coming to rest in a field.  Lincoln was believed to have been partially ejected and sustained serious injuries.  He was transported to Reedsburg Area Medical Center by Ambulance and later flown to UW Hospital Madison via Med Flight.

Speed and alcohol were factors in the crash and Lincoln was not wearing a seat belt.  Lincoln has been charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated (1^st offense), Driving Too Fast for Conditions, Not Wearing a Seatbelt, and Not Having Vehicle Insurance.
