Crashes result in Drunken Driving Arrests

On Sunday, January 6, 2019 at about 2:06am, the Sheriff’s Department was called to the Ho Chunk Casino for a report that a car had struck a flagpole.  Deputies learned that the car in question had driven over the curb and struck a fence in the parking lot.  The car then backed up and attempted to leave, but then drove into a lamp post and a flagpole.  No one was injured in the event.   As a result of the investigation, Melanie R. Hanson, age 56, of Portage, Wisconsin was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated-Third Offense.

 

On Sunday, January 6, 2019, at about 10:29 pm, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department was called to the area of Devil’s Delight Road and CTH DL in the Township of Merrimac for a car versus tree crash with no injuries.  Deputies were informed by the operator that she had swerved to miss a herd of deer and had driven off the road.  As a result of the investigation, Sara R. Catterson, age 29, of Baraboo, Wisconsin was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated-Third Offense and Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device.
