Crash - Town of LaValle

On August 13, 2014 at approximately 2:16 P.M. the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle/pedestrian crash on STH 33 west of CTH V in the Town of LaValle. The investigation of the crash revealed that a male pedestrian, age 35, was walking east on the eastbound shoulder when he suddenly turned to go across the road.  The pedestrian did not see the approaching eastbound vehicle.  The eastbound vehicle, being operated by a 26 year old female, did not have enough reaction time to avoid an impact with the pedestrian.

The pedestrian received serious injuries and was airlifted to the UW Hospital in Madison by Medflight.  Alcohol and speed are not believed to be a factor at this time.  The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sauk County Accident Reconstruction Team, the LaValle Fire Department, LaValle EMS, and Reedsburg EMS.
