Burglary

On September 14, 2014 the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was requested to investigate a Burglary with substantial damage to a residence on Richland Road near the Village of Lone Rock.

The investigation revealed approximately $20,000.00 damage was done to the interior of the residence during this crime.  The damage included spray painted graffiti, damage to electronics and appliances, knives and other objects thrown into walls, food and items thrown about the residence, and furniture items broken.

A witness reported that two suspects were seen coming and going from this residence during the early morning hours September 14, 2014.  These two suspects were later identified and interviewed.  As a result of this investigation, on September 18, 2014, Charles A. Towsley, age 17, of Lone Rock, WI was arrested and incarcerated in the Sauk County Jail on charges of Burglary, Damage or Threat to Property of Witness, Intimidate Witness, Obstructing an Officer, and two counts of Felony Bail Jumping.  A 15 year old juvenile from Lone Rock was referred to Sauk County Human Services for Burglary and Damage or Threat to Property of Witness.  These two individuals believed that an occupant of the residence was a witness in a pending criminal case involving Towsley in Richland County and that resident had given information to law enforcement related to the crime.  Towsley has pending charges in Richland County for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owners Consent, Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Damage to Property.

This incident remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.
