Armed Theft of ATV

Suspect

On Tuesday, October 16th, 2018, Sauk County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a residence on Horkan Road in the Town of Dellona regarding a man who had called reporting that he had been forced at gunpoint to steal an ATV at a different location within the Township, and that the victim was able to escape and call for assistance.

During the investigation that followed, a suspect was identified as 30-year-old Travis M. Bruemmer of rural Loganville.

A search warrant was applied for, granted and executed at Bruemmer's residence by the Sauk County Emergency Response Team and Sauk County Detectives. The suspect was not located at that time.

Later that afternoon, A Sheriff's Sergeant spotted the suspect vehicle hidden behind a barn at a vacant farm on Sky View Road, not far from the suspect’s residence. The Sauk County Emergency Response Team responded, searched the residence and outbuildings, and located the suspect hiding in a pile of hay in the barn. A Sheriff's Office K-9 was utilized in the apprehension and the suspect sustained a bite to his arm, which was treated at a local hospital.

After treatment, the suspect was taken to the Sauk County Jail on a pre-existing warrant from the Department of Corrections, as he was an absconder from probation on a previous criminal case.

Evidence was located and seized at that scene of arrest and the stolen ATV was located the following day at a nearby property.

At this time, the investigation is continuing and efforts are being made to locate the firearm used in this crime. The Sauk County Sheriff's Office will be sending several additional criminal charges to the District Attorney’s Office against the suspect in the coming days.

The public is asked to contact either Detective Drew Bulin or Detective Clay Lins at 608-356-4895 with any information specific to this incident or suspect. Additionally, if you have information on any other criminal activity in Sauk County, you are asked to contact Sauk County Crime stoppers at 1-888-TIP-SAUK (847-7285).
