CTH G Bridge Replacement

BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION ON COUNTY TRUNK HIGHWAY (CTH) G TO START MAY 24, 2011.

     Replacement of the CTH G, Little Baraboo River Bridge located in the Town of Ironton, Sauk County is expected to begin, Tuesday, May 24th, 2011 according to the Sauk County Highway Department.
     During the construction, CTH G will be closed to traffic from STH 58 to Jessop Road. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes. The marked detour is STH 58 to STH 33. The project should be completed by the end of July.
     Work for this project includes the removal of the existing structure and approaches and constructing a new structure and approaches. Guardrail will also be upgraded. The existing structure has a clear roadway width of 24 feet and length of 75 feet. The new structure will have a clear roadway width of 36 feet and length of 80 feet. Existing asphalt approaches are paved 11 feet lanes with 3 feet shoulders. New asphalt approaches will be 12 feet driving lanes with 6 feet shoulders.
     Dan Herzberg, PE from Tetra Tech has been named project engineer. Larson Construction Company of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin is the prime contractor for this $349,145.84 project.
