Law Enforcement Committee

The regular meeting of the Sauk County Law Enforcement Committee was held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at 10:15A.M., in room D102A Community Room, 1300 Lange Court, Baraboo, Wisconsin.
The meeting was properly posted and all interested parties were notified.

- Call to Order and Certification of Open Meeting Law:
- The meeting was called to order and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was certified by Chair Donald Stevens at 10:15 A.M.

- Motion by Montgomery, seconded by Sinklair, to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.
- Approve minutes of Previous Meeting(s):
- Motion by Sinklair, seconded by Montgomery to approve the minutes from the January 12, 2010. Motion carried.

- Sauk County Animal Shelter operations update:
- Animal Shelter took in 34 dogs and 36 cats in the month of January.
- The Animal Shelter dealt with a total of 15 bite cases; 4 dogs and 11 cats.
- Consideration and approval of Resolution Denying Claim of Porscha Johnson.
- Motion by Montgomery, seconded by Halfen. Motion Carried.
- Review and approve December, 2009 and January 2010, expenses for Coroner:
- Motion by Montgomery, seconded by Sinklair, to approve payment of the Coroner’s expenses for December 2009, in the amount of $540 as well as January 2010 bills in the amount of $7,276.40. Bills discussed. Motion carried.
- Review and approve December, 2009 and January 2010, expenses for Sheriff:
- Motion by Montgomery, seconded by Sinklair, to approve payment of the Sheriff’s Department expenses for December 2009, in the amount of $10,308.44 as well as January 2010 bills in the amount of $208,516.74. Bills discussed. Motion carried.
- Consideration of bids for 2010 patrol squads and resolution to purchase.
- Motion by Montgomery, seconded by Halfen, in the amount $129,758. Motion Carried.
- Consideration of bids for the Modular Rifle Grade Shoothouse and resolution to purchase.
- Motion to reject the proposal and rebid with the installation and certification. Motion by Halfen, seconded by Stevens. Motion Carried.
- Jail Report
- Boarding other Jurisdictions for January 2010 was $150,652.42
- Electronic Monitoring collected $3,624.81 for January.
- DOC report handing out.
- Administrative Report
- One Triple I- damaged to a squad car.
- OT report for Department
- Supervisor OT 109 hrs 33.5 holiday, 20.5 special teams, 55 supervising investigations,
- Field Services Report
- There were 103 prisoner transports in the month of January.
- Dispatch received 4,733 calls for service in the month of January.

The next regular meeting of the committee was scheduled for March 9, 2010 at 05:00 pm. Motion by Montgomery, seconded by Halfen, to adjourn the meeting.
