Continuum of Care Committee

The meeting was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 2:00 p.m.

Motion by Carlson, second by Wenzel, to nominate Fordham as Chair of the Continuum of Care Development Committee. Motion carried.

The agenda was approved on a mot ion by Netzinger, second by Carlson. Motion carried .

Communications

Montgomery proposed an Independent Living facility at the Health Care Center in which the Housing Authority would own and operate. Upfront income generated for the County.

Business Items

Historical Perspective: Schauf provided background details to the committee regarding historical aspects of the continuum of care and attendant research completed to date and the resultant decisions associated with that research.

Departments provided updates on current service levels and what has changed since 2006 and the implementation of Family Care. Vandre, Brattset, Gochanour, Bodendein and Warwick all explained department specific current Continuum of Care type programs.

Prior to the next meeting a request for proposal will be drafted to begin research and assessment of the current market and analysis of future trends. Demographic research will also be updated as well as the continuum of care gap chart.

Committee discussion centered around: Services currently provided and potential services within the context of what the county would be willing to provide. Fordham noted that the significant policy decisions on levels of service and types of service will be explored as the committee moves forward.

The committee will solidify goals and timeline in future meetings.

Next meeting January 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.

Motion by Carlson , second by Netzinger, to adjourn. Motion carried.
